Travelling by plane or train

Flights to Nantes

Flying could be your most economical way of getting to LPO, especially if travelling solo or without a car. You’ll need to book your own flights, but feel free to call us for advice. Skyscanner is a great tool to view most available routes to French airports.

Direct flights to Nantes are available from Gatwick, Birmingham and Bristol (Easyjet), or Stansted (Ryanair).

Other services may be available, and routes and schedules change from time to time, so please check each airline’s website for up-to-date schedules. Many routes are seasonal and operate different timetables according to the time of year.

Arriving at Nantes airport

Airport minibus

From the moment you walk out of the arrivals door at Nantes airport you can be in our safe hands. We’ll meet you, help you with your luggage and drive you to the park which is less than an hour away.

Our friendly drivers know their way around and will take care of everything for you. And of course we’ll make the return journey just as easy, ensuring you’re in plenty of time for your flight.

Your holiday price includes a free return airport shuttle for one, as an alternative to an own transport discount.

Pre-booking is essential and subject to availability.

If you would like to use our shuttlebus service, please ensure your flights arrive/depart at Nantes 12:00-18:00 on a Monday or Saturday, and check availability before booking your flights. You may need to wait at the airport: it shouldn't be more than 2 hours. We will advise you of timings 2 weeks in advance.

We may not be able to pick you up if your flight is delayed by more than 20 minutes.

One way: £35 / £25 (for adult / under 16)

Return: £60 / £40

Shuttle to Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie

These airport transfer prices also include one free return shuttlebus trip to Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to visit the shops, the town or beaches. Just book your slot in Reception.

Further return shuttles to Saint-Gilles can be booked on site for 5€ per adult (2.50€ under-16s).

Car hire

For maximum flexibility, pick up a hire car when you arrive. You’ll find all the major operators represented at the airport. Prices can be surprisingly low, especially if you book in advance and use a comparison website. If you take the train to Challans first, you may find much lower prices there than at the airport.

Give us advance notice and we’ll book an airport taxi for you. This will cost £130 one way: door to door service from a friendly local driver (prices may be higher for certain dates, times and passenger numbers).

Public transport

Alternatively, a regular shuttle service runs from the airport to Nantes station, a 25 minute journey. Catch a train direct to St Gilles or Challans, both of which are just a short drive from the park. We can pick you up for £18 (for up to 8 people, one way) if you arrange this with us in advance.

By Train

Taking the Eurostar is convenient, comfortable and the perfect way to enjoy a window into France. Choose to travel via Paris or the city of Lille. Both routes are serviced by Eurostar from London’s St Pancras station or Ebbsfleet International in North Kent.

Eurostar via Lille – Changing at Lille station is easy and you’ll soon be on the high speed TGV service to Nantes.

Eurostar via Paris – You’ll need to take the Metro or a taxi from the Gare du Nord station to Montparnasse station to pick up your TGV service to Nantes.

Arriving at Nantes train station
