Every week at Le Pas Opton you’ll find quality Bible teaching with popular speakers from Spring Harvest and other Christian organisations. Our optional morning Bible study gives you an opportunity to grab a coffee and croissant and enjoy the teaching on offer.

The topics are thought provoking and provide spiritual food for the day. With kids’ clubs running concurrently with the Bible studies (from May half term to 1 September), you can sit back and relax with the peace of mind that our team of children’s workers are looking after your little ones.

Then, later in the day, evening celebrations are a great place to join with family and new friends for a short time of worship, prayer and a short talk.

On Sunday morning the week culminates in a family celebration, with kids presenting a drama, song or story from their groups. The whole service is family-focused, with all-age worship, prayer and preaching. Translation into French and Dutch is available in certain weeks via headsets.

Tom & Ruth Duncanson

Tom is now retired after 40 years in Baptist Ministry including 7 years as a Hospice Chaplain. Ruth, a registered nurse, retired after 18 Years as a school matron at a very large Secondary School. They now live in Eastbourne. Their experience is wide and varied. They have two children and seven grandchildren. When not involved with the family they have a fairly active social life!!

Tom has been a companion in the Northumbria Community for many years.

Tom & Ruth Duncanson

Tom has been a companion in the Northumbria Community for many years.

Jonathan Woodhouse

A Baptist minister for 10 years, Army chaplain for 24 years and former Chaplain-General of the British Army, leading 155 full time chaplains from the main UK denominations, Jonathan has given appreciable Christian leadership experience. Working as an MA tutor and chaplain at Moorlands College, Convenor of the United Navy, Army and Air Force Board, have all brought deeper insight into leadership dynamics. He was appointed the Queen’s Honorary Chaplain (QHC) in 2008 and made Companion of the Bath (CB) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2014. He has since been moderator of Baptist churches and continues to mentor Baptist ministers and chaplains. He enjoys watching most sports, plays golf, tennis and loves a wide range of music, but can’t play a thing!

Andy Caldwell

Andy has been in pastoral ministry and church leadership for over 30 years. A gifted and passionate Bible teacher, preacher and church leader. He has a deep love for Jesus and people and a strong spiritual gifts of encouragement and compassion.

Before entering ministry, Andy served as a police officer in The Thames Valley Police and later as a police inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police. But God had a different calling - to be a policeman of his people: to protect them, encourage them, teach them and love them.

Andy is the pastor of Welcome Baptist Church in Heathfield, East Sussex. He is married to Jo, and together they have three sons.

April Ballard

April Ballard is a worship leader and songwriter living in the Southwest of England. After meeting Jesus in Bristol, she has spent the past 13 years serving and ministering in the city she loves. In 2021, April and her husband planted Open House Community church, where she now serves as Senior Pastor. She has led worship at a range of local and national gatherings, including New Wine and David's Tent, for the past 6 years. April's desire is that through music, leadership, and service, her life would reflect Romans 11:36 - from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

1 June

Olly Goldenberg

Olly Goldenberg is the director of Children Can, author of many books, convener of Hand in Hand national children’s and family leaders conference and the Come Lord Jesus international prayer relay. He lives in the South of England with his wife and 5 children. They desire to see the next generation walk in revival and generations of the church connected together.

Luke Bacon

Luke is married to Becci and with their two daughters they live in the Medway Towns, South East England where they serve as part of the team at St John’s Chatham - a church on an exciting journey having reopened its doors after being closed for over two decades. Luke has been leading worship since his teens when he was gifted a guitar by someone at church, since then he has had the privilege of serving at churches, events and festivals across the UK and beyond.

Luke first visited LPO in 2019 and since then it has become a hugely important place for him and his family, building amazing friendships and significant moments of encounter. He can’t wait to be back!

8 June

Emma & Ben Jeffrey

Ben and Emma Jeffery are the Senior Pastors of soulcity church in Manchester. Ben is also the Head of Unity for the Evangelical Alliance and Emma leads LAUNCH. They have three children (15, 11 and 5 years) and Emma is involved in parent-led education at their independent Christian school. They are passionate about discipleship of all ages and parenting with purpose.

Sue Rinaldi

Sue loves LPO and has led worship as well as spoken at LPO over the years. Sue travels internationally as a concert artist, Worship leader, speaker and creative consultant. She also serves as Worship Pastor & Lead Elder at a church in Hampshire and presents a weekly inspirational breakfast show every Sunday on Konnect Radio.

15 June

Martin Young

Martin has been leading the work of Rising Brook Church in Stafford for over 20 years with an emphasis on church planting, social transformation and cross-cultural mission overseas. He is now working with churches and leaders, pursuing evangelism, and running projects that engage people with the creativity of the Kingdom of Heaven. He is the Chair of the Spring Harvest Board of Directors.

Dave Stephenson

Dave is a minister and part of the leadership team at Rising Brook Church in Stafford, where he has led and shaped worship for the past decade. Alongside his wife Ruth, he has been involved in serving Spring Harvest in different ways for more than twenty years. They have three teenage children : Morley, Erin, and Tilly.

Joanne Arton

Joanne is so looking forward to being at LPO over the summer! She lives and works in Edinburgh and oversees worship at St Pauls and St George's, a city centre church. You will often find her in a corner of a coffee shop drinking a long black, listening to music. She loves having dinner with friends and getting to know new people. Joanne is passionate about seeing people connect with God through worship and feels it is such a privilege to lead people into His presence.

29 June

Brian More

Brian leads the team at Newton Mearns Baptist church in Glasgow and is involved with Spring Harvest.

A former fisherman, he likes the challenge of teaching the Bible in today’s society. Married to Janet, they have two children who are LPO fans!

Suzanne Hanna

Suzanne is a Worship leader, Songwriter, Teacher, Speaker and Musician based in Northern Ireland. Suzanne is passionate about the Word and leading people into the presence of Jesus through worship. She has been involved in serving at churches, events and festivals across the UK and beyond. Suzanne is excited to be returning to LPO to serve!

Stu Barbour

Stuart Barbour has served as a worship pastor for many years, including 18 years at The Point Church in Burgess Hill, and more recently at St Andrew’s Church of England, Burgess Hill. He is also a regular worship leader at The Filling Station in West Sussex.

Stuart will be joined by his daughter Holly on vocals and his son Kyle on drums, who serves as Assistant Youth Pastor at St Paul’s Hammersmith in London. Together with musicians from France, they will bring a rich, international flavour to our times of worship throughout the week at Le Pas Opton.

13 July

Matt Huckle

Matt is the Senior Pastor at Testwood Baptist Church just outside of southampton, he is married to Emma and they have three children, Jonah, Lucy and Ava. Matt likes football and supports Southampton Football Club. Matt has a passion for growing leaders and supporting the church as it steps into that which God has in store. Matt loves to preach and teach God’s word and has served at Testwood for over 10 years.

Pete James

Pete James is the creative behind the charity Swell Revolution. His 12 years as a worship pastor have equipped Pete to create songs, stories and video resources to help all ages grow in their faith. He leads worship frequently in his local church and at festivals and events. He is keen biker and boarder and enjoys snow and water sports.

Beth Cutting

Beth is married to Josh and they have two children. She is a worship leader who has been involved in sung worship for many years, singing at various conferences, and more recently with her husband, led a house church for some time. She is currently part of the worship leading team at STC in Crookes, Sheffield, and during the week works in HR within the NHS. She loves interiors, pilates, travel, and hosting.

Jafeth & Sifra are the founders of ZERA worship, a ministry devoted to building a strong community of worshippers and equipping churches in the area of worship. As passionate worship leaders and parents of three children, their heart is to see unity in the Body of Christ and to cultivate a worship culture that transforms lives and nations. Jafeth wrote the song Fill this House with your Glory which has been recorded on Spring Harvest's live album by Kees Kraayenoord.

3 August

Gavin & Anne Calver

Gavin is the CEO of the Evangelical Alliance and has been involved with Spring Harvest for most of his life. He is passionate about seeing the local Church fulfil its calling to take the gospel of Jesus into every community.

Anne leads Stanmore Baptist Church in North London. She loves serving the Church more widely through speaking, spending time with leaders and writing; all with a passion to awaken and be ready for revival.

Kees Kraayenoord

Kees grew up in the traditional Dutch Reformed Church. After work with YWAM and a calling to be a worship leader, Kees now leads worship both in his native Netherlands and internationally (he has released several albums). Kees and Nicole founded, and now pastor, a church movement in The Netherlands called Mozaiek.

10 August

Krish Kandiah

Krish is a popular speaker and broadcaster, and author of several books on theology, mission and practical Christian living. He is a recognised public spokesperson on issues ranging from child welfare, and the care system to education and immigration, and offers consultancy and mentoring to preachers and church leaders. He is the founder and director of Sanctuary Foundation, a charity that advises government and empowers civil society, business and faith groups to support refugees. He has innovated a Great Big Live Assembly, that regularly reaches hundreds of thousands of school children. He and his wife have been foster carers for 20 years, and have recently become Shared Lives Carers. They share their home with 8 people in an intentional family-based community living arrangement, that effectively supports a range of young adults.

Pete & Nicki Sims

Pete and Nicki are Senior Leaders of Skylark International, a relational network of churches, charities and ministries with a vision to rebuild ruins, build bridges and create culture in the UK and beyond. Together, they also lead Skylark Church in Chelmsford, a vibrant church family committed to taking God’s love and hope into every arena of society. Pete and Nicki are passionate about the local church as a change-agent in the world and love equipping people to live out their faith wherever God has placed them. They are proud parents to two daughters, Aria and Seren, who keep them on their toes!

17 August

Phil Knox

Phil Knox is an evangelist and missiologist at the Evangelical Alliance. He is passionate about making Jesus known and the power of friendship. He loves learning and has degrees in law and mission and evangelism. His work in the UK is studying how people come to faith in Jesus and helping the church maximise those pathways. He preaches around 100 times a year in a variety of contexts and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 2's Pause for Thought.

Phil is married to Dani and they have two sons, Caleb and Jos. He is an avid runner, enthusiastic waterskier and once broke the world record for the longest five-a-side football match. He is also an award winning performance poet and author of Story Bearer and The Best of Friends.

Andy & Jenny Flannagan

Andy wrote the critically-acclaimed book “Those Who Show Up” which has inspired many normal people to get involved in politics and is now the Executive Director of www.christiansinpolitics.org.uk. His songs “We seek your kingdom” and “Tears and Celebration” have been taking words of worship into the civic space and gleaning huge use around the UK and beyond. He is now helping to co-ordinate the BOUNDLESS collective – songs by UK songwriters for the whole of life, not just Sundays. His worlds collided perfectly in 2022 when leading worship at the now infamous National Prayer Breakfast that precipitated a change in Government.

Jen is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Art Therapist, as well as an actress, singer and writer. She currently works as a therapist in the NHS with adolescents struggling with complex mental health difficulties, and in private practice with adults. She enjoys reading, wild swimming and eating.

Patrick Regan

He is an activist who is passionate about speaking on themes such as resilience, courage and and
wellbeing. He has founded two award-winning charities; XLP, a Schools and Community Charity which he ran for 22 years and pioneered Kintsugi Hope which has Wellbeing Groups all over the UK to help people in the area of their mental health. He is a mental health first aider, a campaigner on issues of social justice and was awarded an OBE for his services to young people by the late Queen Elizabeth II. He is an Honorary Fellow of the South Bank University for his contribution to Justice and Wellbeing and recently was awarded CEO of the year 2023 for mental health training.

Jean de Garis

Jean is a Guernsey man serving as vicar of St Francis Church, Salisbury. Sue and Jean have 4 children who love making music together. Whenever possible, Jean enjoys riding his motorbike – and praying!

Matt Brooksbank

Matt is a worship leader and youth worker at Ebenezer Baptist church in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, where he lives with his wife Emily and their daughter Ellie. As well as serving at his church he also works alongside organisations such as CMA UK, Spring harvest holidays and the YBA.

He also runs a ministry called Refuel which is primarily focused on equipping and “refuelling” people to live for Christ in an increasingly hostile world. Matt enjoys Music, history, mountain climbing, building Lego, eating pizza and spending time with his family

14 September

Chris Sinkinson

Chris serves as Associate Minister & Programme Director for the School for Discipleship at Lansdowne Church, Bournemouth. He pastored three local churches and taught theology for many years at Moorlands College. Chris has written extensively on archaeology, apologetics and philosophy. His archaeology interests have taken him far and wide, involving excavations across the Holy Land.

Jemimah Paine

Jemimah Paine is a worship leader, songwriter and artist. Jemimah serves regularly at her church in Hammersmith. She has also been releasing music since 2020 and since then has continued to release a stream of music and tour around the UK. Jemimah sings about topics people can relate to and cares deeply for people and the world. This has taken her to new levels becoming an Ambassador at the renowned charity Compassion.

21 September

Ian & Ruth Coffey

Ian and Ruth Coffey have been involved in Christian ministry for five decades and, in that time, have served in a variety of leadership roles from local church to national organisations. They spent the last fifteen years on the staff of Moorlands College until they retired in 2022. They continue to travel, teach, preach and write extensively They live in a small village in East Dorset.
