Maps and directions
Where is Le Pas Opton?
LPO, as its affectionately known, is in the Vendee region of France, situated in the West. Forming part of the area called Loire Atlantique.

Have a look on Google - check out the satellite view, zoom in and read the notes other guests have left. You might also look at Google's directions planner - (please remember we aren't responsible for their accuracy).
About 5km from the holiday park is the beautiful fishing and leisure town of St Gilles Croix du Vie. Its easy to get to by car, bike, Shutltebus or even walk - here you'll also find those stunning beaches you've been longing for, too.
You'll see underlined (but quite small at this mapscale)Nantes, above and La Rochelle, below - giving you an idea of where local airports are located.
Tips for driving in France
For more information about driving in France take a look at www.aboutdrivingabroad.co.uk/home.htm. Its full of helpful tips and advice and also legal requirements in France.
The secret to driving in France (unlike the UK), is not to rely upon road numbers as they seem to vary quite considerably!
- Plan your route by town names, not road numbers. If you know the route you would like to follow, and can see on the map which towns might fall along your path, you should know where you are at any given time.
- Junctions/exits off the major routes aren't always numbered, but will have town names
- If you use a SatNav, the grid reference of Le Pas Opton is: Latitude = 46.73032, longitude = -1.87701.
The Travel Pack
A few weeks before your holiday starts, we will write to you and include your Travel Pack. This pack includes helpful information on how to reach the holiday park and maps.

If you ever get lost in a town, always follow ”Toutes Directions”, (all directions) this will get you out of the town and hopefully you will find a sign with a town name in the direction you want. Another sign to look out for is “Autres Directions” (other directions); follow this if you don’t see your target town on any signs.
